Alaska's First Valdez Craft Brewery
Previously the Prospector Outfitters outdoor store, Valdez Brewing's location on 'Brewery Row' is split into both our top of the line brewery facility and into our spacious taproom. We have a selection of 11 Craft Beers, 1 Hard Seltzer, and 2 Sodas on Tap year round.
Our custom built 'oversized' 7bbl system allows us to brew a selection of craft beers, while keeping up with demand here in our very seasonal town of Valdez. With 3 – 7bbl fermenters, as well as 3 double-sized 14bbl, we keep a steady stream of craft beer fermenting, which finish in our 3 Brite tanks, before being transferred to either one of our 5 serving tanks, or kegs, of which we have both half barrels and sixtels.
We use the finest quality malt, hops, and yeasts we can get, along with amazingly clean local water, locally grown fruit, roasted coffee, herbs, and seasonings to produce the best beer we know how. As a member of the Alaskan craft brewing community, and the first craft brewery in Valdez, we pride ourselves on experimenting and thinking outside the box.
The Prospector Space
We inherited the bones of the Prospector Outfitters outdoor store — a fitting start for a brewery built by and for people who use their bodies before they use their barstools. Located on 'Brewery Row' in Valdez, our 2,000 sq ft space is split between a top-of-the-line production brewery and a spacious, welcoming taproom.
Glacier-Fed Water
Our brewing water filters through the Chugach Range for thousands of years before it reaches our mash tun. The result: exceptionally clean, soft water that shapes every beer we make. It's a genuine differentiator — the kind most breweries would travel to get.
The Finest Ingredients
We source the best quality malt, hops, and yeasts we can get — then layer in what grows up here. Locally grown fruit. Roasted Alaskan coffee. Herbs and seasonings from the region. We use the finest quality ingredients we know how.

As a member of the Alaskan craft brewing community and the first craft brewery in Valdez, we pride ourselves on working with our fellow brewers — cultivating and growing our craft through refining practices, but also by experimenting and thinking outside the box.
